RPGTV Notebook - May 2

Highlighting the greyhounds who have caught the eye of RPGTV analysts over the past seven days.

Allweathertrevor (Harlow A7)
Debbie Hurlock's September 2021 youngster was a beaten favourite on his fourth start but showed promise. Slowly away, he showed enough pace to turn third into the back straight and would have finished closer but for tangling with a rival between bends there and four.
Coologue Pest (Monmore D1)
Richie Taberner's dog was moderately away before showing a burst of pace to the turn. He found trouble around the bends when trying to make a winning move and had to settle for second but improvement at the traps can bring a better result in the very near furure.
Droopys Tally (Oxford A3)
On her third start back from seasonal rest, Kevin Hutton's bitch was moderately away before bustling her way round the first bend to turn second albeit some five lengths behind. She gave chase and closed the gap rapidly off the last bend but the line came just too soon.
Kerrs Tango (Hove A4)
Tony Taylor's October 2021 pup was slowly away on his second start before showing good early pace but finding trouble at the first bend. He gave chase down the far side to the eventual winner but just gave himself too much to do. A first win beckons with better fortune.
Lion King (Towcester D3)
Pam Dolby's newcomer is bred to stay further than a sprint but caught the eye in defeat on debut. Slowly away and toiling, he picked up well from halfway and powered despite being forced to check on the run-in. Will doubtless go over further but perhaps not before a sprint win.
Popsi Girl Lia (Crayford A5)
This was a second silver medal for Allison Kelly-Pilgrim's pup in her last three starts and she is yet to score in nine attempts but her turn is surely near. Steering a wide course throughout, she surrenders significant ground in particular around the final turn but clearly has ability.
Rosstemple Bert (Doncaster B5)
Debbie Calvert's now veteran did not show too much on his first couple of outings after a lay-off but was just pipped latest when almost blindsided late on having battled hard to keep another rival at bay. He may not hit previous heights but has another race or two in him.
Sparkling Peanut (Romford A11)
Maxine Locke's pup is yet to win a race in eight starts but is starting to show signs she is ready to open her account. She tried to work into the race down the far side and with a better passage in a similar affair, a victory could be imminent.
Wendil Star (Henlow A5)
Richard Devenish's youngster would surely have followed up a first career victory but for getting his challenge wrong at the final bend. Having steered a wide course round the first couple of bends, he tried to go inside when clearly travelling best and paid the penalty.
