RPGTV Notebook - September 5

Highlighting the greyhounds who have caught the eye of RPGTV analysts over the past seven days.
⭐
Bloos Boy Rapido (Monmore A3)
Brian Thompson's unexposed dog broke level before showing good pace into the first bend. He looked set to turn in front but had his back legs taken and his race was over from there. Although fifth, he actually stuck to the task well and is definitely worth another chance.

Distant Buzz (Crayford A10)
Having her first start since June following seasonal rest, Jim Reynolds' bitch had only had one trial back but ran with real promise. She broke well to lead but had a strong runner turn in second and, despite going clear at one stage, she predictably tired and was beaten a length.

Dreamin Faith (Oxford A4)
Going from A9 to A4 in five starts, Kevin Hutton's pup is improving with every run. She was doubly-upgraded for the second time in her short career but showed excellent early pace to take the lead and only succumbed in the final stride. Can climb further through the grades.

Dubai Kid (Romford OR)
Boasts some decent Irish form and was having first look at the track on second UK run for Craig Marston. He was a beaten favourite but caught the eye after a missed break and crowding early left him with plenty to do as he battled on well to claim second. Will have learned a lot.

⭐
Hanover Tom (Hove A3)
Seamus Cahill's dog has had something of a stop-start career so far but, after a moderate break, worked his way into the race down the far side and looked like he was coming to win the race before tying up slightly. This was only his fourth race and a first victory beckons.

Overthelineemily (Harlow D4)
Debbie Hurlock’s former Drumbo Park winner is yet to score for new connections but is going the right way. Dropped back to sprinting after trying four bends, she was well supported in the market but the winner took a flier and her battling qualities were only good enough for second.

⭐
Seamie Boy (Henlow OR)
The former Nottingham grader was stepping up from two bends to four for trainer Frank Gray and showed good pace only to run off and lose some ground on the leader. However, he ran on strongly to be beaten less than three lengths and will have learned from the look round.

⭐
Swanley Sunrise (Doncaster D2)
Made a big step forward from her debut at the track when second behind a decent sort. Shaun Birks' bitch was moderately away but showed decent pace to emerge from the pack to chase the winner home. Can soon go one better in a similar contest on this evidence.

Watergate Boy (Towcester D4)
Jason Bloomfield's dog returned after turning in traps previously and was slowly away before pacing up into the bend only to find a little trouble. Breaking is clearly something of an issue but even marginal improvement in that regard should allow him to score at this level.
