RPGTV Notebook - September 20

Highlighting the greyhounds who have caught the eye of RPGTV analysts over the past seven days.
⭐
Active Diva (Harlow D4)
Peter Witchell's bitch was making her first competitive start since June and was immediately on the back foot after a slow start. Paced up smartly only to be forced to check when challenging at the opening bend then rallied well. Normal improvement in terms of fitness may suffice.

Ardera Blake (Central Park A5)
There is little hidden about Barry O'Sullivan's veteran but he was still a big eye-catcher. Broke okay and was brave at the bend to turn third then made a big move heading into the penultimate turn. Forced to check at that point, his chance had gone but he rallied in good style.

⭐
Chelms Gask (Romford A5)
Missed the break on his debut then got crowded and bumped at the first bend but showed terrific back straight pace only to run into more trouble at the final turn. Gemma Evans' dog will surely be on the winner's podium soon granted any sort of luck in running.

Dyno Rose (Doncaster B6)
Kelly Tobin's bitch was certainly better value for her latest winning margin than the three-parts of a length by which she prevailed. Looming large at the third turn, she was stopped in her tracks when challenging but knuckled down to the task with a surge up the home straight.

Hang On Billy (Towcester D4)
Peter Harnden's bitch was having the second race of her career and missed her break but showed electric early pace to try and get into contention around the first bend. Had to settle for third and is still very green but can only improve in that regard and should score soon.

Kept Asking (Monmore D3)
Now four races without success for Paul White's youngster but she can be forgiven her most recent start after completely walking out of boxes. Showed great pace to the corner before finding more trouble, and although beaten comfortably, just needs to sharpen up at traps a little.

Montore Diva (Henlow IT)
Having won A9 and A8 races from the front, Terry Nevin's bitch found herself in an inter-track where the other locals were coming out of A5. Was ultimately outstayed by one of them but only after again showing excellent early to dominate, a tactic which will continue to serve well.

⭐
Pennys Nadab (Crayford A4)
Nick Deas' March 2021 pup has already made a good start to his career with three wins including an open over six bends. He broke reasonably latest and showed good pace up only to be forced to check then finally lost his chance when bumped at the last. Unlucky.

Wheres Bella (Hove A7)
On debut, Seamus Cahill's youngster had hit the rails and found plenty of trouble. A repeat looked on the cards after a slow break, but she absolutely took off in the second half to assert close home. It will be fascinating to discover how far such off-the-pace tactics can take her.
