RPGTV Notebook - September 12

Highlighting the greyhounds who have caught the eye of RPGTV analysts over the past seven days.

Airport Star (Crayford A6)
Made a very promising British debut for Dave Lee, having switched from Mullingar where he won one from five. He ran on very well after a missed break and only just went down by the minimum margin. Will improve markedly for the run and also perhaps a step up in trip.
Cheriana Roisin (Towcester A6)
Jason Bloomfield's bitch made a bold bid to lead from the quarter point having driven the bend brilliantly. She held the advantage until the last bend but could not hold off the strong-running winner. Still finished nearly five lengths clear of the third and is one to watch.
Kranky Ciara (Doncaster D2)
Jo Atkins' bitch had won two from four at the track but was sent off at double figure odds for her latest assignment yet ran a blinder. She made a slowish start but showed all sorts of pace to get herself into the race and was unlucky to have to check behind the winner.
Pro Cooper (Romford A4)
David Mullins’ pup is still learning the ropes, but he is clearly blessed with pace and it looked be a case of what might have been on his latest start. Had he not stumbled when in contention off the second bend then run into trouble at three-quarters, he would surely have gone close.
Salacres Sydney (Henlow OR)
At face value, Peter Harnden's dog was disappointing when a well beaten favourite for a maiden open but he got no sort of run throughout. He actually ran pretty well until three-quarters where further bad trouble ended any hopes he held and he can do much better.
Signet Batman (Oxford A3)
Kevin Hutton's dog missed his break on graded debut after two open runs but showed decent pace only to be slightly crowded. Quickly back into stride, he powered down the back straight to make up ground on the leaders but was forced to check at the third when coming with a run.
Swift Lookalike (Monmore D2)
Brian Thompson's dog has clearly had problems having only had two sprints since July 2022. However, signs of a revival were there latest as, despite missing the break, he showed great early pace and was very brave to drive into what looked a winning position before being denied.
Touchdown Baby (Hove A6)
Belinda Green's bitch is 25 without a win stretching back to November but she has returned to form. She caught the eye again staying on after early bother and is likely to be a decent price next time out whether that be over four bends again or stepped back up to six.
Wachovia Blaze (Harlow A7)
Robert Copping's dog has struggled with consistency but both wins have come in current grade and he ran well latest behind a bitch who nicked a lead. His kennelmate did not help her cause round the opening bends, but she rallied well. With better luck, he can return to winning ways.
