RPGTV Notebook - October 4

Highlighting the greyhounds who have caught the eye of RPGTV analysts over the past seven days.

Butterbridge Sky (Crayford A9)
A missed break left Jim Reynolds' bitch trailing but gaps opened down the far side and she made headway. The manner in which she finished to be beaten less than a length suggested that she is more than up to this grade and that a win is not too far away.
Clongeel Show (Hove D1)
Returning from an absence, and having his first race over two bends, he shaped as if the drop to sprinting might have the desired effect. Belinda Green's dog was in the firing line early but got crowded out on the crown of the bend. Worth considering in a similar affair.
Courts Ad Trump (Central Park D2)
Was having his first run for fully six months and a cracking return to action it was too. He just found the winner too good and Spencer Mavrias' dog should come on with the run under his belt. He can head back to top grade with a win very soon.
Fabulous Louise (Harlow D4)
Trapped well for trainer Luke Morrison but could not clear the bend and was bumped as a result. However, she stayed on well and this was her best effort since returning from an absence suggesting that she may be running back into form. Trap three rather than four might help.
Franco Tufty (Doncaster B7)
Having his sixth start for Lee Macmanus, he ran with real promise in defeat. Slow into stride but showed enough pace to turn handy and, although slightly outpaced down the far side, stayed on well to finish second beaten a head. Found plenty of time on his recent efforts too.
Heavenly Scent (Romford A7)
Paul Young’s pup has shaped well in both career starts to date over 400m. Showing good early pace second time up, she built an advantage off the second bend but was unlucky to find a very strong sort turn closer to the pace than expected. Can soon open her account.
Roxhill Merchant (Monmore D1)
Won two from six sprints at Galway and has shaped well in a couple of his three UK races. Paul Sallis' dog took a false stride after exiting the boxes, but stuck to the task well and with a more fluent exit should land one of these top graded sprints.
Savana Judith (Henlow A9)
Graham Payne's bitch was beaten over eight lengths into second having led to halfway but the odds-on winner clocked a rapid time for the grade. This was by far her best start in three career efforts and even a repeat of this level of performance could be good enough for victory.
Silverspring Ria (Towcester A2)
John Mullins' pup won her first two starts at Waterford and reached the Empress Stakes second round on transferring to current connections. A2 standard at the track is no easy task but, after a flat-footed start, she stayed on very well. Look for a sharper exit and better result.
