RPGTV Notebook - October 31

Highlighting the greyhounds who have caught the eye of RPGTV analysts over the past seven days.
⭐
Bombproof Nan (Towcester A6)
Michelle Brown's bitch has one win in four since switching to the track from Suffolk Downs and ran well in defeat latest. Sent off favourite dropped in grade, she rode a bump and was then forced wide down the back but gamely battled in vain against a strong-running kennelmate.

Brentfordpenguin (Oxford OR)
Matt Dartnall's pup is still learning the ropes but gives the impression the penny is going to drop at any moment after chasing home an impressive kennelmate. The winner had flown, but the way he moved into second was encouraging suggesting he just needs to trap better.

Droopys Roster (Hove OR)
Ricky Holloway's charge was unlucky to not land his maiden sprint win in a decent open contest of its type. He was just starting to ramp up the speed and make his move but an unfortunate draw outside a very wide runner ended his chances. Rallied but with too much to do.

Hollywood Puzzle (Harlow D4)
Having just the second race of her career, Tilena Welch’s bitch broke okay but was crowded on the run to the first bend. She battled to miss the trouble in behind her and ran on well to be beaten just over a length in second. Can go one better.

Jogon Jacko (Crayford A8)
A missed break on his latest outing certainly did Julie Luckhurst's dog no favours and left him on the back foot early. However, he put in a gallant effort in defeat as a fast-finishing third suggesting that a smarter exit will see a similar event well within his capabilities.

Newinn Larkin (Monmore A1)
Kim Billingham's dog may only be one from 13 in his career but he has generally been competing in tough company. He found a lot of trouble latest as he tried to navigate round the first two turns and was in rear but kept on really well. The ground he made up was impressive.

Rapido Lola (Doncaster D2)
After a winning debut for Jo Atkins' February 2022 pup, it was always going to be a harder task next time up. Still only 12 weeks out of season, she broke okay and showed good pace to the bend only to get squeezed out. Will be winning again soon on this evidence.

Silver Bucks (Romford A6)
A promising pup trained by Katie O’Flaherty who found plenty of trouble in his bid for back-to-back wins. Was in the wars on the run-up then at the first and third bends but still ran well to finish second and is clearly up to current level. One to watch.

Swanley Bolt (Henlow OR)
Gary Beadle's ex-Irish recruit struck gold on his first visit to the track despite not having a trial. Supported throughout the day, a bold showing was clearly expected and, despite getting a little lost at the unique third turn, he showed a great attitude to prevail.
