RPGTV Notebook - October 25

Highlighting the greyhounds who have caught the eye of RPGTV analysts over the past seven days.

Bet Goodwin (Hove D2)
Having his first start since early April, it took Gemma Davidson’s dog a while to get into stride but he stayed on well to be beaten just over a length. Likely to come on for the run, he should have a similar race within his grasp in the near future.
Boomerang Kray (Central Park A4)
Tony Collett's young pup is still learning the ropes but there was a lot to like about his effort on debut. Conceding plenty of early ground to a well-backed kennelmate, he showed good middle gears to reduce the deficit dramatically and was only beaten half a length.
Cathals Icon (Doncaster A7)
Gary Vincent's July 2020 dog broke well to lead and go clear on his British debut only to eventually be run down by a good winner and beaten half a length. The June Enniscorthy winner should find similar tactics successful in the near future.
Crafty San Diego (Oxford OR)
David Mullins’ promising pup recovered from bumps on the run-up and again at the first bend before opening up down the back straight in fine style. He made up some four or five lengths to go down by less than a length suggesting a second career win is close.
Cushie Lynsey (Monmore D3)
Chris Fereday's bitch pup is now plying her trade over two bends having struggled to last home over four. She broke well before being passed by a well-fancied winner but stayed on well to close the deficit to half a length. Should not be long before she goes one better in a similar race.
Deelish Frankie (Towcester OR)
Patrick Janssens' Monmore Puppy Derby champion had a spell off after reaching the Derby semis but left a big calling card. He was just beaten for early by winner Signet Goofy and forced to check near the first bend but chased the Steel City Cup champion hard throughout.
Fatboyz Kobe (Harlow D4)
Having his second UK start for Paul Clarke, he was moderately away as kennelmate and eventual winner Honeygar Pilot stole a march but he showed smart speed into the corner before being chopped off by the leader. Clearly has the speed for this level.
Grandads Gift (Romford A3)
Her frustrating run continued with a sixth silver medal in a row but such consistency does illustrate that Paul Young's bitch is running well. She had to battle before getting in the clear at the third bend but really rattled home from that point and just failed.
Springhill Boy (Crayford S4)
Tom Levers' dog lacks a little middle pace but really comes to himself in the latter stages of his races and makes up a lot of lost ground. After some trouble-marred runs, he enjoyed a smooth run latest which should have given his confidence a boost.
Superior Turbo (Henlow IT)
Paul Steward's veteran bitch turned well in arrears as usual but once again made up a lot of ground. That was despite electing to come the long way round when swinging very wide. She will be having her 100th race next time and it could be a real celebration.
