RPGTV Notebook - October 24

Highlighting the greyhounds who have caught the eye of RPGTV analysts over the past seven days.

Butts Legacy (Crayford A8)
Dean Childs' dog has just turned two and was having his fourth start at the track, upgraded for a narrow victory the previous week. He was very slowly away and last early but ran on well to claim suggesting this level will be well within his compass granted a better start.
Coppice Zaya (Oxford OR)
An early Oaks elimination, Kevin Hutton's bitch stepped up to six bends for the first time and battled to the front before the final lap. The early leader was never shaken off and challenged inside when a gap was offered, getting up in the final strides. She will learn from the run.
Flapper Girl (Romford A10)
Katie O'Flaherty's bitch was well supported to return to winning ways and ran a blinder to go down by the narrowest of margins. Turning in arrears, she closed dramatically into the third bend and had to come between rivals up the home straight. Compensation awaits.
Hawkfield Lexus (Doncaster B3)
Upgraded for a smart win, Jimmy Johnstone’s bitch made a slow start but almost got round the bend in front after showing good pace. She chased a kennelmate throughout but could not quite decide whether to attempt to pass on the inside or outside potentially costing victory.
Hollywood Vegas (Harlow A7)
Tilena Welch’s bitch has not had a lot of racing but has been knocking on the door recently. Her latest start was a great run as, after a slow exit and early crowding, she battled really well even snatching second after another bump on a night when it was tough in behind.
Maisy Mac (Henlow A6)
Having her third race back after a lengthy absence, Carol Grasso's bitch showed some of her old form. She missed her break, got trouble at the first bend and was well behind but showed how strong she is from halfway and pulled back the leader to only get beaten a head.
Skyfall Japan (Monmore A9)
Having her seventh start for Paul Sallis, she is still to open her account but ran really well behind a smart winner for the grade. Again slowly away, she paced up to turn in a good position behind the leader but had left too much to do. Should be up to landing a similar contest.
Tomahurra Kev (Hove A7)
Another flat-footed start proved costly for Norah McEllistrim's dog but there is certainly no doubting his speed and he cannot be ignored despite a costly defeat for punters. The task was an uphill one after the start but he did make up significant ground with his all-round speed.
