RPGTV Notebook - November 7

Highlighting the greyhounds who have caught the eye of RPGTV analysts over the past seven days.

Eilleens Daisy (Monmore S1)
Gary Griffiths' bitch was favourite for her first graded six-bend assignment since a runaway August win but was slowly away and then found all sorts of trouble. Basically out of the contest, the manner in which she powered through late for third was very noteworthy.
Melodys Belle (Towcester D2)
Having her second start for Paul Philpott, she broke well but was then slightly outpaced, most notably by the winner who clocked a quick 15.99sec. She did keep on well, though, and with Irish form is over four bends, will be interesting stepped up but could land a sprint first.
Moanteen Evie (Hove S2)
Running over six bends for only the second time in 2023 and almost 12 months since her last win over the trip, Richard Rees's bitch did not get to the front. She was always chasing in vain as a result but impressed with her determination and it was only very late on she tired.
Moneygall Aidan (Oxford A4)
Showed just the best early pace up but ran a little wide at the opening turn to cede the advantage. Kevin Crocker's dog hassled the leader throughout and a final lunge took him to within a short-head of success. This represented a big step forward on his recent efforts.
Robbies Casemiro (Harlow OR)
Only has a handful of races on his card but went back-to-back in D4/D3 for Paul Clarke before a trial at Romford. Returned in a maiden open only to completely miss the break before hugging the rails to finish a respectable second. Different proposition with a better start.
Saleen Sky (Doncaster B4)
Jimmy Johnstone's dog was shuffled back off the second bend after nearly turning in a prominent position. Making up a lot of ground from halfway, he just failed to peg back a solid sort who had secured first run. Compensation awaits in the form of a first victory since June.
Swift Qusay (Crayford A4)
Making her third start for Julie Luckhurst, she was well fancied despite a double upgrade following a runaway success. She missed the break but got into contention down the far side before being slightly crowded again and having to settle for third. Only needs to trap a little better.
Tip Top Aria (Romford A3)
Katie O'Flaherty's bitch won on debut then endured a troubled passage in her next two races. She was well backed on her fourth start, showed good early pace and was brave overcoming a bump, beaten less than two lengths. May benefit from a draw closer to the inside than three.
Wendil Magic (Henlow OR)
Richard Devenish's charge was flat-footed at the start which was perhaps to be expected having not been in trap one for a long time but he did show early pace. However, he had a lot to do after second bend trouble, initially edging closer then coming with a powerful late run.
