RPGTV Notebook - November 14

Highlighting the greyhounds who have caught the eye of RPGTV analysts over the past seven days.
⭐
Fridays Amazing (Monmore A3)
Although last of five, Ian Langford's dog certainly caught the eye. He missed the break but paced up well and tried to make his move off the second bend before being shuffled back. A 28.55sec trial on his card last month is a reminder of the ability he is ready to unleash.

Graces Star (Doncaster A1)
Debbie Calvert’s bitch looked desperately unlucky not to complete a hat-trick. She did not trap as well as she can and then hit trouble but flew down the back before finding a wall of dogs at the third where she had to check. Her chance had gone but it was a compelling effort.

⭐
Kanturk Mills (Crayford S1)
Julie Luckhurst's dog is showing definite signs of a return to form. He missed his break and found trouble when in the process of recovering but there was more spark there. He has two open and two top grade victories over the 540m distance and can soon add to the tally.

⭐
Lisdaleen Laura (Towcester A7)
Slow starts often give this strong finisher a lot of ground to make up but she remained within striking distance latest. Bob Liddington's bitch was travelling well when stopped in her run near the third bend and has to be regarded as unfortunate given that she then flew home.

Never Say No (Hove OR)
Having his first start since late September in a Hove 515m open, Seamus Cahill's dog was heavily-backed and ran really well in defeat. Led by a strong runner, he made his move down the far side before checking up at the third bend. Still rallied and will be fitter for it.

⭐
Springside Cloda (Harlow OR)
She had a few runs over 415m before dropping back to sprints but, stepping up again, Debbie Hurlock's bitch showed massive pace before just getting picked up by the odds-on favourite. A similar display could well suffice whatever her next task entails in terms of distance tackled.

⭐
Teaboy Brownie (Romford A6)
Nathan Hunt's youngster took five races to get off the mark but may not have to wait as long for his turn at this new level. Excellent early took him clear and, but for running wide a couple of times, he may well have held on in what was a career-best time.

⭐
Wendil Star (Henlow A2)
Nothing could live with brilliant winner Ballyard Shawny but Richard Devenish's dog did emerge with credit all the same. Jostled for room early, he did not get into the clear until the back straight but chased hard and claimed a distant second late on. Can soon go one better.

Woven Magic (Oxford OR)
A cracking effort by Mart Dartnall's bitch stepping into open company for the first time. Crowding at the second turn stopped her in her tracks but she rallied and showed a great attitude. She possesses smart all-round speed and it should not take her long to shed maiden tag.
