RPGTV Notebook - May 9

Highlighting the greyhounds who have caught the eye of RPGTV analysts over the past seven days.

Favourite Place (Doncaster D2)
Cathy Lister's pup was having her fourth start at the track and went close to a second win. She broke okay but flew to the first bend where she was squeezed and again at the second bend. Showed that she's got the pace to score at this level again and probably even better.
Flitwick Foxie (Henlow IT)
Making his UK debut after a win at Shelbourne in February, Peter Henman's intake had moved well in trials, showing he can lead or come from behind. He was foot perfect on his first start, leading throughout. The contest was classed A5 standard and he will soon leave it behind.
Insane Sam (Hove D3)
George Andreas' June 2021 dog had hinted at ability in qualifying trials and showed up well in defeat on debut over 285m. He had no room when in contention at the crucial first bend, but stood his ground to chase home a well fancied winner. Should come on a bundle for the run.
Kellsboro Roly (Romford A3)
Now nine without a win stretching back to November either side of a break but Nathan Hunt's bitch is definitely hinting that her turn is close. Form has picked up lately and on her latest start she chased hard in the face of a tough assignment when former open-racer Chubbys Best led.
Kokomo (Towcester D4)
A flat-footed start proved costly for Andy Ioannou's bitch even though she worked herself back into the race showing good speed to recover as ultimately she was unable to hold off a promising winner bred to stay further. There is plenty of improvement at lids-rise in her.
Paisley Tipp (Harlow D3)
Paul Vincent's dual Clonmel winner was backed as though defeat was out of the question on UK debut and showed a lot to like despite being beaten. He roared to the bend after a moderate break but was forced to check in behind the leader then ducked inside turning for home.
Quivers Sunshine (Crayford A2)
Jim Reynolds' bitch was a huge eye catcher in defeat in a warm contest. Only moderately away, she flew into the turn before finding trouble and then showed good speed down the back straight before again getting stopped in her tracks. Remains unexposed after five runs at track.
Slippy Thriller (Monmore A2)
Paul Sallis' youngster climbed the rankings but has seen that progress halted in recent weeks. Missing the kick latest, he came together with a rival round the opening bends and only saw real daylight as they turned for home but there are signs he can make a breakthrough at this level.
Tenzin (Oxford A4)
Kevin Hutton's charge stood out on his debut appearance. Very slowly away, a burst of early pace put him into contention and he found himself in front going into the final bend. It was understandable he tied up slightly and finished third but he was beaten only a length.
