RPGTV Notebook - March 7

Highlighting the greyhounds who have caught the eye of RPGTV analysts over the past seven days.

Abigails Ben (Hove A4)
Having his first four-bend start for Seamus Cahill after two sprint efforts, he was very slow to start, clocking a 3.82sec sectional, but showed plenty of promise. Moved well off the second bend until crowded at the third and his final placing of fourth is very misleading.
Alright Gorgeous (Crayford S3)
James Turner has a promising staying pup on his hands. Making her graded debut after two open runs, she relished the ease in class and powered on round the last two bends for an impressive win. She is one to follow over the six-bend trip and also when stepping up to eight.
Ballymac Loreen (Doncaster B5)
Moderately away on debut for Sue Watson, she showed decent pace up only to be forced to check then made a notable move only to again be short of room at the third. Once regaining her equilibrium, she motored home to be beaten less than two lengths and has untold scope.
Dens Benji (Oxford OR)
Started off in low grade at Crayford before a speculative attempt at a Category One puppy competition at the Cowley circuit saw him reach the final. Tom Levers' dog has continued to be aimed high and ran perhaps his best race yet latest when challenging for three bends.
Jura Go Zola (Harlow D4)
After a couple of months' lay-off Maurice Rice's veteran was having her third race back and broke well but was just hassled a little into and round the first bend. She had to settle for third but it was a step forward all the same and showed the ability is still there.
Savana Bomb (Towcester A2)
Made a hot favourite latest but things did not work out for Frank Gray's charge. Moderately away, he was bumped early and again when mounting a challenge. His third place does not reflect his effort and can gain compensation next time out in a similar contest with a better run.
Savana Sydney (Henlow A7)
Making his debut, Graham Payne's June 2021 pup showed a lot to like. After a moderate break, he produced good pace up but got crowded at the second bend and was still a little green off the third before running on very strongly. Should not be long in going one better.
Skyfall Splash (Monmore S2)
Paul Sallis' dog had hinted six bends would be his forte and he was desperately unlucky. Broke well and nearly turned in front only to have his hind legs taken which shuffled him back. Moved third on the final lap and it would have been very different but for those early travails.
Think Again (Romford A4)
David Mullins’ dog has been tried in British-bred opens but won one rung down on his previous start at home base. Suffered some early crowding latest but then showed good pace to get to the front. Being reeled in late was not a bad run, just unfortunate who turned behind.
