RPGTV Notebook - March 21

Highlighting the greyhounds who have caught the eye of RPGTV analysts over the past seven days.

Airlie Coast (Harlow OR)
For the second week running, Jamie Kingsley's promising two-year-old was an eyecatcher and it will not be long before he opens his account. A crowded start and stumble put paid to his chances, but he moved well to bag the bronze and is fancied to convert to gold sooner rather than later.
Bang On Polly (Monmore A5)
After four sprint defeats, Nathan Hunt's youngster missed the break on her first 480m start and left herself a mountain to climb. However, she knuckled down and trouble ahead saw her make inroads before a strong finish carried her into second, beaten just over two lengths.
Brown Eyed Boy (Towcester A2)
John Mullins' dog suffered a fourth straight defeat in the grade but ran a big race. He was squeezed for room early and ran off at the first bend but showed good pace down the back straight and ran on strongly for second. Should regain the winning thread soon on this evidence.
Bubbly Scorcher (Hove OR)
Paul Young's pup could hardly have messed the start up more, breaking slowly before stumbling a few strides into the contest. Did not let that faze him and put himself back in contention, moving smoothly through the gears before striking late in quickest 500m time of the night.
Moaning Lynx (Crayford A6)
Darren Whitton's June 2021 pup has got off to a great start to his career, winning five from his first ten starts with more to come on the evidence of his latest short-head defeat. He broke level, paced up well and kept battling after a first bend bump to be just denied. Can win at this level.
Moyar Glory (Oxford A3)
Chris Hamblin's recent intake went from A8 to A1 at Perry Barr last year and will not be long making a mark at his new surroundings. Having his first race since January, he showed good early pace to take them along, but lack of peak fitness might have kicked in as he gave way late on.
Old Fort Monaco (Romford A3)
Dave Mullins' youngster won two of her first three and was arguably unfortunate not to add to that tally. She was modestly away and found trouble round the opening bends before launching a powerful rally late on to finish third. She probably lost more than that in the early stages.
Southwood Fire (Doncaster A2)
Making his debut, Sean Parker's dog missed the break but showed electric early pace to make the first bend in front. He continued to power down the back straight but could not shake off a strong-running rival and got picked up. Should improve and strip fitter for the run.
