RPGTV Notebook - March 14

Highlighting the greyhounds who have caught the eye of RPGTV analysts over the past seven days.

Aero Wolfy (Monmore A4)
Having his first start for Richie Taberner, the youngster ran with real promise in defeat finishing second on a surface favouring railers. He broke averagely but stayed on well to close the gap in finishing second. A better break and better track will see him leave this grade behind.
Barley Locket (Oxford OR)
Making her debut for trainer Matt Dartnall, she was forced to check at the first bend but finished the race strongly, going down by half a length. She kept wide and can be expected to improve for the experience of this first UK outing having had just the one race in Ireland
Cooly Pil Pil (Hove A6)
Making her debut, Carl Gardiner's bitch was okay away and held her position to the bend but was forced to take a slightly scenic route at that point. She regained an even keel in the back straight and kept on well to finish second with obvious scope for improvement.
Dumbledore (Henlow A6)
The penny could be starting to drop for Pam Dolby's dog who came on significantly for his debut effort. Slowly away, he was fifth at the opening turn but made good ground along the back until crowded very wide at three-quarters then stayed on again to clinch the silver medal.
Lady Robyn (Romford A8)
Nathan Hunt’s bitch has been running over four and six bends in recent weeks but clearly will not be hanging around in this 400m grade long. Looming large at the third bend, she checked up at a vital stage then, after regaining momentum, had nowhere to go as they straightened up.
Letter Flash (Doncaster B5)
Sean Parker's young bitch is adapting to life in the grade having been raised following a third-time-up win. Unable to get to the front in the manner which suits her early-paced style, she nevertheless stuck to the task well to be beaten only two lengths. A better start may do the trick.
Pearl Ice Blue (Crayford S5)
Jim Reynolds' two-year-old produced a sensational six-bend debut. He was tapped for early speed and shuffled back in the opening stages to the extent he was in rear and out of camera shot with a lap to go. However, he weaved a passage through the field and powered home.
Tuftys Dora (Towcester OR)
Having her first 500m race since October, Laurence Tuffin's bitch was ultimately no match for the odds-on winner but stretched out well in the lead for three bends. She should strip fitter and it will do the 11-time A6 to A3 winner the world of good back in graded company.
Wee Mick (Harlow A7)
Landed the odds in similar grade in mid-February before missing next intended outing but returned in good order. Paul Vincent's dog found the winner had raced clear but he stayed on well despite suffering crowding. Clearly in good heart and further success on the cards.
