RPGTV Notebook - July 26

Highlighting the greyhounds who have caught the eye of RPGTV analysts over the past seven days.
⭐
Adeles Johnjoe (Henlow A3)
Having his first graded race after four opens, Lee Field's dog was well-supported after clocking good times in trials. Getting away smartly, he showed the best pace to lead but, unfortunately for supporters, his chief market rival turned too close and he was run down late on.

Bambis Hero (Hove A2)
Richard Rees' dog has risen from A5 and caught the eye in defeat at his current level. He went up with traps so was up against it early and found trouble. However, the manner in which he closed down the leader to be beaten just a length and a half, bodes well.

Ceide Fields (Doncaster A5)
The two victories of Bill Link's dog came in December but he is threatening again having returned from a lengthy lay-off. He cut out the early running after a moderate exit only to be caught close home but that opening acceleration can see him poach a winning advantage.

Chris Special (Towcester A4)
Steve Rayner's dog went close to adding a second British success to his cv despite moving rails from three and finding trouble at the start. He showed excellent battling qualities to get to the front off the final bend only to be mugged by a rival with recent open-race marathon form.

Deanridge Mr One (Crayford A4)
Pup was having just his second race for Allison Kelly-Pilgrim and really caught the eye after a missed break. He recovered to be in the pack off the second and showed a surge of back straight pace to finish runner-up, four and a half lengths clear of the third, and flew past after the line.

⭐
Mythical Jet (Central Park D1)
Alfie Herbert's dog won a maiden sprint open in February, adding to that over 415m at Harlow last month, and certainly lost nothing in defeat on his return to home soil. Moderately away, he paced up well to be in contention only to be squeezed up on the rails.

Roman Coco (Harlow A7)
This was an improved effort from Peter Witchell's experienced bitch who was only beaten on this occasion by two strong-running rivals. She is yet to score since making the switch from Towcester earlier this year, but this showing suggests her turn is just around the corner.

⭐
Romeo Ad Astra (Romford A6)
David Mullins' young pup looked very unlucky on his latest start when missing the break and leaving himself an uphill task. Bumped at the first, he knuckled down and stayed on strongly to be beaten less than two lengths. Can soon double his career tally to leave this grade behind.

Taffy Jetts (Monmore A8)
Pat Cowdrill's bitch got a double upgrade after opening her account and looked unlucky not to follow up. After a slow start, she roared to the first bend to lead and go clear down the far side. Unfortunately a strong-running type got a clear run at her and the slow start cost her.
