RPGTV Notebook - July 19

Highlighting the greyhounds who have caught the eye of RPGTV analysts over the past seven days.
⭐
Aero Lennie (Towcester A2)
Having the eighth race of her career, and fourth four-bender, Chris Hamblin's bitch trapped well and paced up to take an early lead. Ultimately a strong runner proved to have turned too close and she was caught close home but similar tactics are likely to see her go one better.

April Fourth (Harlow OR)
Sharon Saberton's dog made it third time lucky stepping up to 415m after creditable efforts in a couple of sprints. Pacing up well, he took charge down the far side and could use that as a stepping stone by following up in the final then on to better things than maiden company.

Bambis Magic (Hove D1)
This was an improved effort from the Richard Rees-trained youngster. The outside duo were Kirby semi-finalist Lenson On Ice and Guys & Dolls finalist Only Maloney, who dominated the betting and are useful yardsticks so to have split them on just his second start was a fine effort.

Classy Baxter (Crayford A7)
Jim Reynolds' January 2021 pup made a good start to his career winning on debut then finishing second. Not a natural trapper, he missed his break on his third start but showed good pace to the bend and loomed up along the back only to find trouble at a vital moment.

Lexinston Ave (Central Park A5)
Another near-miss for Dan Brabon’s early pacer-who was a little unlucky. A strong-running rival only just about cleared the bend and was able to grind the speedy two-year-old down in the final strides meaning she had to settle for a sixth silver medal in 13 starts.

Lightfoot Patel (Doncaster B3)
Sean Parker's pup has enjoyed mixed fortunes from a handful of races to date, but he has inherited some of the speed of his father King Elvis and could work his way up to a higher level. He did not see much daylight early but ran a blinder to finish second once he got racing room.

Stop Complaining (Monmore A4)
Despite being friendless in the market, Carol Weatherall's debutant caught the eye. After a flat-footed start, this January 2021 youngster worked back into contention, ultimately staying on for second behind a well-treated winner. Improvement looks a given with little required.

Two Tempting (Romford A8)
Martyn Wiley’s youngster was well beaten on a bumpy debut outing but paced up well to the first bend this time only to collide with the eventual winner. However, he caught the eye in second and looks sure to come on further for the outing and make another significant step forward.
