RPGTV Notebook - July 12

Highlighting the greyhounds who have caught the eye of RPGTV analysts over the past seven days.

Bales Legacy (Romford A8)
David Mullins' November 2020 pup was having the fifth race of his career and seeking a second victory but handicapped himself with a very slow start. However, sweeping round rivals out wide, he showed fantastic pace to chase home the winner and be beaten just half a length.
Dansgamechanger (Central Park A3)
A strong-running and well treated rival broke well out wide leaving the result inevitable, but after a flat-footed start and crowding round the opening two turns, Dan Brabon's dog was the eye-catcher. He battled on well for second in a warm contest and looks ready to open his account.
Ferndale So (Harlow A6)
Maurice Rice's veteran has been in good form lately and went close to completing a double. She led for the majority of the contest but was just picked up by a strong-finishing Swift Uno, clocking her best time so far. The sort of early she showed will serve her well.
Milestone Estime (Henlow A9)
Terry Nevin's two-year-old is now winless in nine on these shores, but dropped a massive hint on this occasion that her turn is around the corner. After tangling with a rival at the second turn, she unleashed big middle speed and stayed on powerfully to be beaten just a neck.
Miss Sally (Crayford A5)
James Turner's experienced charge caught the eye in defeat on her 49th start and was unlucky not to register a 16th career success. Bidding for back-to-back wins at this level, she would have struck gold had there been room to pass at the third turn and is clearly a bitch in form.
Roman Empress (Towcester D3)
Making her debut, Frank Gray's bitch trapped well to lead and seemed in command going into the bend. However, she was just clipped from behind and the momentum lost allowed the pack to close with a strong runner going past on the run-in. Should not be long in going one better.
Sallyrod Lady (Hove A10)
Having her first UK four-bend start for Norah McEllistrim on Thursday having been off since May, she broke well to clock a 3.56sec sectional and take command. Some three lengths clear at the penultimate turn, she was eventually reeled in late but similar tactics likely to work soon.
Supporting Forde (Doncaster B6)
Now nine without a win but could hardly have gone any closer when just pipped. Kelly Tobin's bitch could not go the early pace but made a big back straight move and weaved through to challenge. Passed the leader close home only to be blindsided herself, a similar effort could suffice.
Swift Goddess (Monmore A9)
Kim Billingham's bitch looked desperately unlucky on debut. Only 13 weeks out of season, she was crowded early but paced up well before a surge of pace saw her in second place. Hitting the rail off the final bend stopped her momentum but she still rallied to be beaten just a neck.
