RPGTV Notebook - January 10

Highlighting the greyhounds who have caught the eye of RPGTV analysts over the past seven days. Notebook returns on January 10.

Authentic Lass (Monmore A5)
Carol Weatherall's debutant did not go unbacked the first time up but walked from the boxes. Huge back straight speed enabled her to work back into the race and she dropped a big hint of her ability by staying on powerfully for second place. It will not be a long stay in this grade.
Fill The Till (Doncaster B2)
Jimmy Gaskin's bitch is a seasoned campaigner but had spent a while off the card from October so this comeback may have been needed. It was eventful to say the least with trouble at just about every bend but the blowout will have done her the world of good.
Flyers Vialli (Harlow A7)
Was sent off double figures after a win in what was a much tougher race for the grade but Debbie Hurlock's dog ran with great credit in third behind a victorious kennelmate. Will generally do things the hard way but his performance in behind runners was still very encouraging.
Glengar Forest (Oxford A7)
Terry Nevin's youngster dropped another hint of his ability here on just his third career start. He endured a rough ride around the opening turn but his all-round speed saw him get up for second. Was beaten far enough but can go one better soon.
Macho Camacho (Hove A1)
Having his first start since November, Carl Gardiner's lightly raced two-year-old caught the eye on his comeback after his customary slow start. On a track rated -80, he showed plenty of speed to work back into the race and claim second. Normal improvement takes him close.
Miss Pestana (Crayford A10)
Allison Kelly-Pilgrim's youngster was fancied on her debut from trap one. She is still a raw puppy but has huge potential for improvement judged on her game third place finish after suffering crowding and bumping which will build her experience for next time.
Roaring Lion (Henlow A5)
Pam Dolby's two-year-old once again looked uncomfortable drawn on the inside but is still coming forward. Moving off on the run-up and at the first turn, she was shuffled to the rear but battled on well and is certainly up to winning at this level with any sort of clear run.
Roll On King (Romford A7)
Second run back from lay-off, Paul Young's dog walked out of traps but paced up well to turn fourth then flew along the back straight to move into second. To be beaten just over a length from where he had found himself was some achievement.
Salacres Maybach (Towcester D2)
Trained by Peter Harnden, he caught the eye with a burst of speed that saw him contest at the first bend, after a moderate start. The fast-trapping winner beat him by one length but he looked every bit as fast overall and even marginal improvement at the boxes may suffice.
