RPGTV Notebook - February 14

Highlighting the greyhounds who have caught the eye of RPGTV analysts over the past seven days.

Ard Bluey (Harlow D4)
Debbie Hurlock's bitch is yet to score in four starts but can be forgiven to an extent due to her inexperience plus the hustle and bustle of sprint action. Her trapping needs to tidy up, but she has shown enough pace to give the impression that may be all that is required.
Dohoma Ramber (Towcester A4)
Seamus Gaughan's dog broke well and went round in front but was passed by a fellow improving pup at the third. The winner is strong but Gaughan's charge knuckled down well to be beaten only a couple of lengths suggesting that a race of this nature is within his compass.
Droopys Naughty (Romford A2)
Nathan Hunt's August 2021 pup had a couple of trials at Monmore and fluffed any chance on her return when walking out of the boxes. She matched her rivals off the second, however, and certainly put in a strong chase suggesting a less disastrous start will make her competitive.
Jaguar Fergie (Monmore A8)
Graham Rankin's bitch made a winning debut despite plenty going wrong. That included a modest start then being careful round the first couple of bends before the turbo kicked in. It was very effective though, as she shrugged off trouble to prevail. Can only improve.
Minstrels Twelve (Hove A4)
Beaten favourite for the fifth race in a row, Jason Heath's bitch may not strike as an obvious one to highlight but her latest effort was extraordinary. Renowned as a front runner, she trailed the field after stumbling but took off from the third bend to be beaten only a length.
Moaning Gentile (Crayford A6)
A September 2021 debutant, Darren Whitton's dog belied his inexperience to score. Broke okay then showed the best pace to take a lead rounding the first bend and held on well. To win first time is an achievement in itself but he can only improve and defy the grader.
Sharpyswhirlwind (Doncaster B7)
John Sharp's ex-Sheffield bitch has shaped well in three races at her new surroundings and will surely win soon having lost a bit of ground at various stages latest. Checking over rivals on the dash to the turn, she also got held up down the far side then rallied well to finish second.
Spartan Wolf (Henlow A3)
Carol Grasso's dog has got off a flier with two wins in four starts and his latest second suggests he will soon be adding to the tally. Did not start as well as he can and was twice squeezed for racing room but gave the impression he was quickest in race.
Splendid Display (Oxford OR)
Making her career debut for Matt Dartnall, she was well supported in the market and showed good pace off a moderate start but was bumped and crowded at both the opening turns. Came again to challenge at the third only for inexperience to show but will have learned a great deal.
