RPGTV Notebook - August 2

Highlighting the greyhounds who have caught the eye of RPGTV analysts over the past seven days.
⭐
Barnside Bonnie (Doncaster B7)
Opened her account at the sixth time of asking despite a slow start and then being crowded in her run early in the back straight after she had recovered onto the heels of the leaders. Sean Parker's bitch moved into second at three-quarters then cleverly switched outside to assert.

⭐
Beebees Dreamer (Central Park D2)
Having just her third race for Paul Donovan, the ex-Irish bitch had looked a little lost on her first two starts but here showed improved form in finishing runner-up to a smart winner. To compete with him until the second bend was an indication of an impending future victory.

Broadway World (Harlow OR)
Sean White's dog raced in top company in Ireland and opened his British account at the second time of asking. In landing a maiden heat, he was not the quickest but he was pressed strongly and crowded at the third bend, losing time. Should not be written off for the final.

Calico Brin (Henlow A4)
Keith Hardiman's pup was again none too well away but paced up and had moved into a good pitch at the quarter-point. However, two bouts of crowding left him with a mountain to climb and, although it proved too tough a task, he caught the eye in the manner he finished.

Dilligaf Faith (Hove A8)
Belinda Green's pup produced a solid debut effort after a flat-footed start, showing good early pace into the bend before fading slightly. Natural improvement in terms of fitness and knowledge of the track should see her open her account soon and leave current level behind.

⭐
Nanny Roo (Towcester D2)
There was nothing flashy about Kevin Crocker's debutant out of traps but she then produced a smart burst of early and ran the bends superbly to gain the initiative. Joined on the line by an experienced and strong-running rival to force a dead-heat, but there is plenty more to come.

Scooby The Hulk (Romford A2)
After winning three of his first eight, Martyn Wiley's dog is now four without success but ran a lot better than the bare formline suggests. He tried to pace up despite being crowded on both sides and was then knocked back at the first bend. Never gave up the chase though.

⭐
Vixons Diamond (Monmore A6)
Has so far been unable to follow up a debut victory in six subsequent races but the front-running tactics of Brian Thompson's bitch will work again sooner rather than later. Was again caught close home but has been unfortunate to have stronger rivals turn within striking distance.

Wicky Dickie (Crayford S1)
Started his British career in good company, winning an S2 in runaway style then landing a maiden open. Julie Luckhurst's dog found trouble at the first bend latest meaning the winner was away and gone but he ran a really good race in defeat closing the gap all the way to the finish.
