RPGTV Notebook - April 4

Highlighting the greyhounds who have caught the eye of RPGTV analysts over the past seven days.
⭐
Ballymac Duke (Oxford OR)
Matt Dartnall may have unearthed another potential star. A 20-month-old puppy, he unleashed a back straight surge which took him to the front and he readily raced clear, winning by three lengths. His potential augurs well for his future and is one to follow wherever he goes next.

Bower Pat (Hove A3)
Still settling into his new surroundings, but this former top gradr at Perry Barr ran his best race to date when narrowly denied. Seamus Cahill's charge got a good run on the rails and loomed large round the final couple of bends only to just fail to catch the leader.

Elegant Elma (Crayford A5)
Making her debut for trainer Tom Levers, she had impressed enough in qualifying trials to go off favourite but showed her inexperience at the first bend by moving off and being bumped. She kept on well after and will have learned a lot from this. Certainly up to winning at this level.

⭐
Greencroft Carla (Towcester D3)
Downgraded for her third start for Steve Rayner and caught the eye in finishing second. Missed the break but showed plenty of pace to turn in third place then claimed silver on the run-in. Sharpening up a little at the traps should do the trick in terms of going one better.

Indigo Ted (Doncaster B2)
Sean Parker's dog has just had a handful of starts with one win in six and had to ride an early bump latest but still moved into second down the far side. He closed on leader into the third turn only for the winner to find extra. One that will pay to keep considering.

⭐
Newinn Larkin (Monmore A5)
Yet to master the art of trapping but is a pup that will click into action at any moment. Kim Billingham's charge was again on the back foot early after another modest start but did his level best to recover and eventually finish third. Could be suited to draw nearer middle than five.

⭐
Sirius Magic (Romford A3)
Making her Romford debut for new dual attached trainer Paul Burr she caught the eye in defeat. She has improved with each trial and improved again on debut. Her early pace is a big asset, caught here by a strong runner who turned in a more advanced position than normal.

Wachovia Manor (Harlow A7)
Robert Copping's pup is still learning the ropes but a much-improved exit saw a better display. Unfortunately he was pursued by a strong sort and gave way as they straightened up for home. However, he remains a dog with scope and can nick one of these races off the front.

Wendil Wishes (Henlow A6)
Having dead-heated on debut, Richard Devenish's youngster ran well trying to defy an upgrade. She broke okay and paced up well to go round in second then tried to pull the leader back but tied up a little coming home. Still very young, she will be moving though the grades soon.
