RPGTV Notebook - April 25

Highlighting the greyhounds who have caught the eye of RPGTV analysts over the past seven days.
⭐
Alien Snogger (Henlow IT)
Frank Gray's bitch had only a short seasonal break and is yet to win since but her latest effort was a big step in the right direction. Not well away but despite moving markedly left from four paced up well to lead to the run-in. Look for a draw nearer the fence.

Bang On Charlie (Monmore P4)
Nathan Hunt’s August 2021 son of Oaks winner Wuheida was slow into stride and turned fifth. He took his time to get going but from the last bend stayed on really well to finish second and close the gap to a length. The more experience this big pup gets the better.

Baran Iceman (Harlow A7)
Struggled in bottom grade at Hove but debut for Peter Witchell strongly suggested better to come. He did run in snatches a little having taken then lost an early lead but was clearly the quickest in the race and it may just have been unfamiliarity with the circuit that caused issues.

Galileo (Crayford A5)
Having his second attempt at the level after winning consecutive races, Darren Whitton's dog seemingly did everything right only to come up just short. He broke well and showed good early to lead but unfortunately a strong-running type turned close. Soon go one better.

⭐
Gentle Maid (Doncaster D2)
Having her third race back from seasonal rest, Ricky Overton's bitch was last out of traps and her chance had basically gone but she flew to the bend and moved second at halfway. She stayed there and it is now ten without a win but she has proven she can trap better than this.

⭐
Rapido Grace (Oxford A5)
A July 2021 bitch on debut, Dave Jeans' charge made a decent start but hopes of leading up were scuppered by a middle-running rival inside. She did get into second but was crowded and lost momentum early in the back straight before powering home to be beaten less than a length.

⭐
Same Again (Hove A7)
Having her fifth start for George Andreas, the June 2021 pup trapped well but could not go round in front. She was always prominent in behind, however, and closed the gap to a neck at the winning line. A similar break soon will surely see her lead and be successful.

Swift Ken (Romford A4)
Having his third start, Paul Burr's youngster produced his best break to date and was able to turn third. The eventual, experienced, winner always just had a slight edge but the pair both chased down the leader hard and went past with just a length between them at the line.

Whizzbang Rocket (Towcester A3)
Adam Sear's dog is still seeking a first victory after seven attempts but really caught the eye. He walked out of traps then tore to the bend to turn second and chased hard along the back to challenge. The petrol did run out which was understandable but a better break should suffice.
