RPGTV Notebook - August 16

Highlighting the greyhounds who have caught the eye of RPGTV analysts over the past seven days.

A Mystical Love (Hove A4)
Maria Collins' bitch has won two of her seven starts as she works through the grades. Not blessed with early, she gave herself a lot of work to do latest but flew from the third bend to be beaten just over a length. Can win similar soon but is also one to watch out for over six bends.
Ballybrack Brook (Doncaster B4)
Missed the break but showed great early to lead round, perhaps pulling four lengths clear by halfway. However a fast-starting strong runner had turned in range and eventually picked her up close home. Kelly Tobin's bitch was well supported in the market and can soon recover losses.
Gone To Rome (Harlow OR)
The Dave Mullins-trained dog went straight on at the turn in his previous appearance at the venue, but ran the track much better on this occasion. The well-backed winner cut loose and made all, but he closed to less than a length suggesting he can reverse the form in the final.
Oh Tokyo (Towcester A3)
Yet to score in eight races, but John Mullins' dog has shown plenty in defeat. A modest break on his latest start put him on the back foot but a good turn of early pace saw him turn second to an impressive winning kennelmate and give a good account.
Moaning Malc (Crayford A6)
Darren Whitton's debutant had improved through qualifying trials and showed a commendable attitude in the face of adversity. Having missed the break, he kept his head down and battled on after trouble at the bends to claim third. Significantly more to come.
