Greyhound Derby semi-finals video recap with interviews
Romeo Magico was fastest in Saturday's Derby semi-finals at Towcester

First semi-final

Romeo Magico (29.06sec, normal) followed up his impressive quarter-final victory in style. Trained by Graham Holland for Dave Firmager, the 6-4 favourite did not trap brilliantly but was able to clear those flanking him and out-speeded fast-starting Mickys Barrett into the first bend. In command from that point, he came home over three lengths clear of that rival with Savana Beau outstaying Signet Goofy, who had made his worst start of the event, for the third qualifying position despite being stopped in his tracks when initially trying to pass at the penultimate turn.

Second semi-final

A 1-2-3 for Ireland led home by Kildare. Trained by Peter Cronin for Aiden Comerford, the 15-8 favourite took early command and was always in control although he had to dig in late to repel track record holder Priceless Jet by half a length in 29.16sec. The runner-up's trainer, Paul Hennessy, secured a second qualifier when Hello Hammond proved too strong for Lautaro on the run-in.
