Greyhound Derby 2022 Heats 11 - 21

Night two of the Derby and it's the turn of Pat Buckley to post 4 winners, emulating Patrick Janssens 24 hours earlier. Certainly a night for the Irish as they took 7 of the 11 heats contested tonight making it 12-9 in the English v Irish challenge.
The first two heats of the night were on a slightly quicker track rated +10, reverting to normal for heat 13 onwards.
Buckley gave an indication of what was to come when getting off to a great start in heat 11 courtesy of the William Murphy-owned Bobsleigh Dream.

Part Blake, trained by Graham Holland for Una Creed & Mary O'Connor, reversed Limerick trial stakes form by beating Singalong Sally in heat 12.

Master Ten Ten, trained by Sharon Thompson and owned by her in partnership with Mick Freshwater & D Martin, won heat 13 where fellow 9/4 joint-favourite Balterio pulled up with a tarsal injury.

The Micky Barrett Syndicate celebrated loudly as the dog, trained by Jason Gray, who carries the name of their late friend battled for the win in heat 14.

Callmesteve came from a seemingly impossible position to pounce late in heat 15 for trainer John Mullins plus owners Alan Ballard and Barry Sadler.

Emilys Jet got Peter Cronin on the board in heat 16, the odds-on favourite going from the front for owner Gaz Williams.

The Gary Dineen and Patrick Riordan-owned Scarty Yank justified strong support to provide Pat Buckley with a second winner of the night in heat 17.

Buckley quickly completed a treble as the Javier Jarne-owned Le Bonite turned over the night's shortest-priced favourite, Kildare (4/9), in heat 18.

Reigning champion Thorn Falcon survived in third despite a terrible start as Kevin Hutton's heavily-backed Signet Denver, owned by Tony Brealey, shaded Coolavanny Calvn after a great tussle in heat 19.

It was four for the night for Irish handler Buckley when Ballinabola Ed, owned by Brendan Murphy, produced a sensational 28.97sec effort in heat 20.

A new fastest sectional of the round as a 4.02sec split sees Peter Cronin's Cape Cloud round off a great night for the Irish. Winning owners the Leamybrien Syndicate.
